Who might be able to join this trial:

• The cancer is located in one of these areas of the mouth: the tongue, gums, inner cheek lining, floor of the mouth, roof of the mouth (hard palate), or the retromolar area (behind the back teeth)
• The cancer has been assessed as an early stage, specifically classified as cT1N0M0 according to standard staging guidelines (confirm with trial site)
• The cancer has been confirmed by a tissue test (biopsy) to be a type called squamous cell carcinoma
• The person has read and signed a consent form agreeing to take part in the study

Who may not be able to join:

• More than two cancer spots have been found in the mouth
• There is a known history of any cancer diagnosed within the past five years, unless treatment was completed and the cancer has not come back within five years of starting that treatment
• There has been previous surgery to remove lymph nodes in the neck (on one or both sides)
• There has been previous radiation treatment to the head or neck area
• The person is currently pregnant or breastfeeding
• There is a serious or uncontrolled infection, a known HIV diagnosis, or a history of having received an organ, stem cell, or bone marrow transplant
• The person has taken part in another clinical trial within the 30 days before enrolling in this study
• The research team determines there are other reasons that make participation unsuitable (confirm with trial site)
