Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 50 and 80 years old
- People who are able to give informed consent to participate
- People whose chest CT scan has shown a nodule (a small growth or spot) measuring 6mm or larger
- People who do not have any other type of cancer (apart from lung cancer, for those in group 1)
- People who are able to avoid smoking tobacco for 24 hours before the breath test
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are too unwell to provide a breath sample
- People who have smoked within the last 24 hours before the test
- People who are pregnant
- People who have been diagnosed with a respiratory (breathing-related) infection in the last 3 months
- People who are not willing to give consent to take part in the study
