Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are fluent in English
- People who have been diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) according to current diagnostic guidelines (DSM-5)
- People who are willing to attend 8 remote (online) memory training sessions spread across four weeks
- People who are willing to have two MRI brain scans — one before and one after the memory training
- People whose medications and any mental health treatments have remained unchanged for at least 4 weeks before joining
Who may not be able to join:
- People with a history of a psychotic disorder or bipolar disorder at any point in their life
- People who have had a severe problem with drug or alcohol use in the past year (note: mild-to-moderate alcohol use disorder may still be allowed — confirm with trial site)
- People with a history of a neurological condition that could affect thinking or memory, such as a stroke, brain surgery, a brain aneurysm, or a seizure disorder
- People who are currently in crisis with serious thoughts of suicide that require immediate care
- People with a moderate to severe traumatic brain injury (mild cases may still be eligible — confirm with trial site)
- People who are currently taking benzodiazepines (a type of sedative/anxiety medication) or certain other medications that block a brain chemical called acetylcholine
- People who cannot safely have an MRI scan, for example due to metal implants or certain medical devices in the body
