- People aged between 18 and 70 years old
- People who have been receiving kidney dialysis (either hemodialysis three times per week, or peritoneal dialysis) for at least 3 months, OR healthy people with no history of kidney problems
- People for whom a seasonal flu vaccine would be considered appropriate
- People who have given written consent to take part in the study
Who may not be able to join:
- People who had the flu recently, if it cleared up less than 3 months ago
- People who have taken medications that affect the immune system within the two weeks before receiving the vaccine
- People who received another vaccine within the three weeks before joining the trial (note: receiving other vaccines at the same time as the trial vaccines does not automatically prevent participation — confirm with trial site)
- People who had a whole-body infection that cleared up less than two weeks before joining the trial
