Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People aged 18 or older
  • People who can read and speak Cantonese or Mandarin fluently
  • People who have recently received a first-time, primary diagnosis of head and neck or laryngeal (voice box) cancer
  • People who are waiting to receive a full course of radiation therapy aimed at curing their cancer, with or without chemotherapy
  • People who are able to carry out normal daily activities to a reasonable degree, as measured by a standard health scoring tool called the Karnofsky performance scale (a score of 70 or above) (confirm with trial site)
  • People who are experiencing a moderate to high level of emotional distress, as measured by a standard screening tool called the NCCN Distress Thermometer (a score of 3 or above out of 10)

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who do not have sufficient ability to communicate in Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin)
  • People who have any other circumstances that would make it difficult for them to give informed consent or follow the trial's requirements (confirm with trial site)
