Who might be able to join this trial:

• People of any gender, race, or ethnicity between 18 and 70 years old
• People who speak English
• People who have been diagnosed with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) — a condition involving dependence on opioids — according to standard diagnostic guidelines (DSM-5)
• People who have been diagnosed with PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) according to standard diagnostic guidelines (DSM-5), and who have some memory of the traumatic event that led to their PTSD
• People who have been on a steady, unchanged dose of medication for Opioid Use Disorder for at least one month
• People taking medications for mental health who have been on a steady, unchanged dose of those medications for at least one month before the study begins

Who may not be able to join:

• People with certain unmanaged psychiatric conditions, such as uncontrolled psychosis, mania, or bipolar disorder
• People who are considered an immediate risk to themselves, including those with current thoughts of suicide and a specific plan, or those showing other high-risk behaviours (such as refusing medication for OUD or engaging in risky fentanyl use), as assessed by the research team
• People who meet the diagnostic criteria for another substance use disorder (not involving opioids) and who consider that other substance to be their primary substance of use
• People who are currently receiving an ongoing, structured talking therapy specifically for substance use disorders or PTSD outside of their standard treatment programme
• People with serious medical conditions needing urgent and intensive treatment, such as unstable or advanced liver disease
