Who might be able to join this trial:
For the active treatment group:
- Willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the study
- Aged 18 or older
- Already scheduled to have a facial nerve transfer procedure
- Willing to follow all study requirements and available to participate for the full duration of the trial
For the comparison (historical control) group:
- Willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the study
- Aged 18 or older
- Has previously had facial surgery within the last 20 years where a facial nerve was cut, without having had a nerve graft or other procedure to restore facial movement
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are known to be pregnant
