- You have a confirmed diagnosis of Myotonic Dystrophy Type 1 (DM1), shown by a genetic test finding at least 100 CTG repeats in the DMPK gene
- You experience myotonia (muscle stiffness or difficulty relaxing muscles after use)
- You have enough muscle tissue in both lower legs (shin area) to allow a small needle biopsy to be safely performed

- You have taken part in another clinical trial or used an experimental treatment or device within roughly the past 30 days or more before screening (confirm with trial site)
