Who might be able to join this trial:
- Women who have not yet gone through menopause and are 18 years of age or older
- People who have been confirmed to have uterine fibroids (non-cancerous growths in the uterus) through an internal ultrasound scan during the screening period
- People whose uterine fibroids are causing very heavy periods
- People whose breast ultrasound results during screening fall within a standard low-risk classification range (BI-RADS 1 to 3 — confirm with trial site if unsure what this means for a specific result)
- People who are able to understand and follow the study procedures, are willing to take part, and can sign a written consent form
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have had both ovaries surgically removed in the past, or who plan to have their uterus, both ovaries, or other surgery removed during the study
- People for whom previous hormonal treatments (GnRH agonists or GnRH antagonists) for uterine fibroids have not worked
- People who have a history of, or currently have, osteoporosis or other conditions affecting bone metabolism
- People who have had a diagnosis of cancer within the 5 years before screening, with some exceptions for certain fully treated skin cancers (confirm with trial site)
- People who have had issues with drug abuse, alcohol abuse, or drug dependence within the 2 years before screening
- People who currently have a copper or hormone-releasing intrauterine device (IUD) or a hormonal implant in place, unless it can be removed at least one month before the study begins
- People whose bone density scan results during screening show a Z-score below -2.0 at the lower spine, hip, or femoral neck (a measure of bone strength — confirm with trial site)
- People whom the trial doctors consider unsuitable for any other reason
