Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 6 and 18 years old
- A psychiatrist has clinically diagnosed you with ADHD
- A child psychiatrist has confirmed your ADHD diagnosis meets the official DSM-5 diagnostic guidelines
- A structured interview called the M.I.N.I. KID shows that you have ADHD only, with no other mental health conditions alongside it
- You are able to cooperate with a light-based brain treatment called transcranial photobiomodulation (confirm with trial site)
- You and your parent or guardian understand what the study involves and are willing to sign a consent form to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- You have been diagnosed with another serious mental health condition, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder
- You have a serious physical health condition, such as significant brain lesions, thyroid problems, epilepsy, congenital heart disease, serious blood disorders, lupus, or significant hearing or vision problems
- A brain scan has shown significant abnormalities in the structure of your brain
- You have a serious neurological (brain or nerve) condition, or a strong family history that suggests a risk of one (confirm with trial site)
- You have metal implants or a pacemaker in your body, or have any holes or fractures in your skull
- You are currently receiving any ADHD treatment — such as medication like methylphenidate, behavioral therapy, or other treatments — or you stopped such treatment less than 2 weeks ago
- Your score on a standard reasoning and thinking ability test (Raven's Progressive Matrices) is below 85
