Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been newly diagnosed with a grade 3 or 4 brain tumour, falling into one of these specific types: Astrocytoma (IDH-mutant), Oligodendroglioma (IDH-mutant), Glioblastoma (IDH-wild type), Diffuse midline glioma, Diffuse hemispheric glioma, or Diffuse pediatric-type high-grade glioma (IDH-wild type)
- People between 3 and 60 years of age, of any sex
- People with a functional ability score above 60 on the Lansky or Karnofsky scale, meaning they are reasonably able to carry out daily activities (confirm with trial site)
- People, or their parents or legal guardians (in the case of children), who have given written informed consent to participate
- People with a haemoglobin (a measure of red blood cells) above 10 g/dL
- People with an adequate level of infection-fighting white blood cells (absolute granulocyte count above 500 per microlitre of blood)
- People with a platelet count above 50,000 per microlitre of blood, indicating reasonable ability for blood to clot
- People with blood clotting test results within an acceptable range (INR below 2, and PTT less than 1.5 times the upper limit of normal)
- People with liver function test results within an acceptable range (bilirubin less than 1.5 times the upper limit of normal, and liver enzymes ALT and AST less than 3 times the upper limit of normal)
- People with kidney function results within an acceptable range (creatinine less than 1.5 times the upper limit of normal)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who show signs of radiation-related tissue damage (radionecrosis) on a brain MRI or MRS scan
- People whose medical condition is too unstable or urgent to tolerate a new treatment
- People with a history of any other type of cancer
- People with a history of immune system disorders or conditions that weaken the immune system
- People whose brain fluid drainage device (cerebral shunt) has ruptured, or who are unable to have a lumbar puncture (spinal tap) performed
- People who are pregnant
- People with a history of poorly controlled long-term illnesses such as diabetes, heart failure, liver cirrhosis, or chronic kidney disease
