Who might be able to join this trial:
For people with Lynch syndrome:
- Adults aged 18 or older
- People of any sex
- People who have already been diagnosed with Lynch syndrome through standard medical care, confirmed by a genetic change in one of these genes: MLH1, MSH2, MSH6, PMS2, or EpCAM
- People with Lynch syndrome who are already having routine bowel camera examinations (endoscopy) and/or surgery as part of their normal care
- People who are able to have children (male or female) are included
- Women who are currently breastfeeding are included
For people without Lynch syndrome:
- Adults aged 18 or older
- People of any sex
- People who have been found to have bowel growths or bowel cancer that are not linked to a hereditary condition
- Healthy people without bowel cancer or bowel growths who are having a bowel camera examination for abdominal pain
- People whose score on a risk-prediction tool called PREMM5 is below 2.5 (this is a free online tool that estimates a person's likelihood of carrying a gene change linked to Lynch syndrome)
Who may not be able to join:
- People under 18 years of age
- People who have a personal history of inflammatory bowel disease (a condition known to increase bowel cancer risk)
- People who are unwilling or unable to give their consent to take part
- People who are currently pregnant
