Who might be able to join this trial:
- People with a performance status rated 0, 1, or 2 on the ECOG scale, meaning they are reasonably active and able to carry out daily activities to some degree (confirm with trial site)
- People with gallbladder cancer (GBC) that has grown into nearby tissues or spread to nearby lymph nodes, but where surgery to remove it is still considered possible
- People who previously had their gallbladder removed and now have signs of remaining cancer on scans, or whose surgery involved spillage of bile, removal of the gallbladder in pieces, or spread to nearby lymph nodes visible on imaging
Who may not be able to join:
- People with early-stage gallbladder cancer (classified as cT1 or cT2) that has not significantly spread to lymph nodes or grown into the liver
- People whose cancer has advanced to a point where major liver surgery or a complex pancreatic surgery (called a Whipple procedure) would be required
- People who had their gallbladder removed previously and show no signs of bile spillage or remaining cancer on imaging scans
- People experiencing jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes) caused by the cancer blocking the bile ducts
- People whose cancer has grown into major blood vessels near the liver
- People who have cancer that has spread to distant parts of the body, or only to the site of a previous surgical incision
- People whose cancer has reached lymph nodes outside the immediate area around the gallbladder, such as those near the celiac artery or aorta
- People with a poor performance status rated 3 or higher on the ECOG scale, meaning significant limitations in daily activity
- People who are pregnant
- People who are unable or unwilling to follow the study requirements
