  • People whose other (non-operated) kidney is working well, with a function level above 40% as measured by a nuclear medicine scan

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who are older than 80 years of age
  • People who have other kidney conditions (such as kidney stones or kidney inflammation) that could affect how the operated kidney works
  • People who are not healthy enough to undergo robot-assisted keyhole surgery
  • People who have had previous surgery on the affected kidney, or who have a history of any inflammatory condition affecting that kidney
  • People whose kidney tumour is touching or growing into the urine-collecting part of the kidney, or is 4mm or less away from it
