Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with myotonic dystrophy type 2 (DM2), confirmed by genetic testing, and are between 18 and 70 years old.
- You are able to walk on your own without any help from another person or a walking aid (such as a cane or walker).
- You have had a normal heart tracing (ECG) within the 3 months before your first study visit.
- Your body mass index (BMI) — a measure of height and weight — is between 20 and 30.
Who may not be able to join:
- You are younger than 18 or older than 70 years old.
- You are unwilling or unable to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the study.
- You have a pacemaker fitted in your heart.
- Your blood pressure is too low (below 90/50) or too high (above 160/90) at your first study visit.
- Your resting heart rate is fewer than 60 or more than 100 beats per minute at your first study visit.
- You have had any fall in the past six months.
- You have a personal history of fainting episodes, or a family history of sudden death.
- You are currently pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or test positive on a urine pregnancy test at the study visits (applies to women who could become pregnant).
