Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have had a serious heart or blood clot event — such as a heart attack, stroke, or pulmonary embolism — within the past 6 months, or have had heart surgery or a stent procedure within that time
  • You have very severe heart failure
  • You have received a blood transfusion within the past 2 months
  • You have taken immune-suppressing medications within the past 6 months
  • You are expected to need dialysis, a kidney transplant, or major surgery within the next 6 months
  • You have significant liver problems identified through blood tests at screening
  • You are currently taking both an ESA injection medication and roxadustat (two types of anemia treatments) at the same time
  • You have a history of a certain type of advanced eye disease related to diabetes that has required eye treatment
  • You have severely overactive parathyroid glands (a gland condition that affects bones and kidneys) (confirm with trial site)
  • You have a serious active infection, such as active tuberculosis or a serious fungal infection
  • You are mostly bedridden or have serious difficulty walking, or you have a history of an irregular heart rhythm (atrial fibrillation) or blood clots in the leg veins
  • You have a history of active cancer
  • You are currently pregnant, breastfeeding, or are a woman who could become pregnant but is not willing to use effective contraception
  • You have had a severe allergic reaction to a drug in the past, or you are known to be allergic to any ingredient in the study drug (enarodostat)
  • You are currently taking part in another clinical trial that involves a treatment intervention
  • The trial doctor determines there is another reason you should not participate
