Who might be able to join this trial:
For Schizophrenia:
- People aged 18 to 65 years, of Han ethnicity, of any gender, with a confirmed diagnosis of schizophrenia based on standard diagnostic criteria (DSM-5)
- People whose schizophrenia symptoms score at or above a set level on a standard symptom rating scale (PANSS score of 60 or higher)
- People who have completed at least a middle school level of education, have no language barriers, are able to cooperate with assessments and treatment, and have given their own informed consent or had a guardian do so on their behalf
For Depressive Disorder:
- People aged 18 to 65 years, of Han ethnicity, of any gender, with a confirmed diagnosis of depressive disorder based on standard diagnostic criteria (DSM-5)
- People whose depression symptoms score at or above a set level on a standard depression rating scale (HAMD-17 score of 17 or higher)
- People who have completed at least a middle school level of education, have no language barriers, are able to cooperate with assessments and treatment, and have given their own informed consent or had a guardian do so on their behalf
For Bipolar Disorder:
- People aged 18 to 65 years, of Han ethnicity, of any gender, with a confirmed diagnosis of bipolar disorder involving manic or hypomanic episodes, based on standard diagnostic criteria (DSM-5)
- People whose mania symptoms score at or above a set level on a standard rating scale (YMRS score of 13 or higher)
- People who have completed at least a middle school level of education, have no language barriers, are able to cooperate with assessments and treatment, and have given their own informed consent or had a guardian do so on their behalf
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have, or have previously had, certain other mental health diagnoses, including organic brain disorders, schizoaffective disorder, intellectual disability, dementia, other thinking or memory disorders, alcohol or drug dependence, or personality disorders
- People with moderate or high suicide risk (as measured by a standard assessment tool), or people considered at risk of harming others
- People with serious or unstable physical health conditions
- People with a specific type of eye condition called narrow-angle glaucoma
- People with a history of epilepsy or seizures
- People who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant
- People who are already taking part in another clinical trial, or who are unwilling or unable to complete the full course of this trial
- People considered unsuitable for the trial by the investigating doctor or team (confirm with trial site)
