Who might be able to join this trial:

- People of any sex
- People who have been diagnosed with a liver condition called metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD), which is a type of fat buildup in the liver linked to metabolic health issues
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a history of any thyroid condition or have received treatment for one, such as thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, an underactive thyroid, or an overactive thyroid
- People with liver disease caused by alcohol who drink more than 40 grams of alcohol (roughly four standard drinks) per day
- People who have a viral liver infection, such as hepatitis B or hepatitis C
- People who are pregnant
