Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are a male or female of any race or ethnicity
- You are between 18 and 40 years old
- You have been diagnosed with a psychotic disorder, such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar I disorder with psychotic features, major depression with psychotic features, delusional disorder, or a similar condition
- You are able to read, speak, and understand English
- You are willing and able to sign a consent form and follow the study's requirements
- Your psychosis symptoms began 4 years ago or less
- At the start of the study, you are already receiving both medication and therapy for your condition
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a low estimated pre-illness intellectual ability based on a specific reading test (confirm with trial site)
- You have a neurological or medical condition that may affect how your brain works, such as epilepsy, a serious brain injury involving 30 or more minutes of unconsciousness, a history of stroke, or AIDS
- Your psychosis appears to be caused by alcohol or drug use — though people with cannabis use unrelated to their psychosis may still be eligible (confirm with trial site)
- You are pregnant
- You have metal objects inside your body that are magnetic, which could be unsafe in an MRI scanner
- You weigh more than 300 lbs or your body size exceeds what the MRI scanner can accommodate
- You experience severe anxiety in enclosed spaces (claustrophobia)
