Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have been newly diagnosed with a specific type of blood cancer called precursor B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), and whose cancer does not have a genetic marker called the Philadelphia chromosome
  • People aged 15 to 59 years old

Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose leukemia has spread to the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord)
  • People with serious problems affecting the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, or other organs — including but not limited to severe infections, uncontrolled diabetes, severe heart failure or chest pain, active tuberculosis, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or bronchiectasis
  • People whose heart pumping function (measured by an echo scan) is below 45%
  • People who have had another type of cancer in the past 5 years, with the exception of certain localised thyroid cancers or skin cancers that have not spread
  • People with certain abnormal blood test results indicating the liver or kidneys may not be functioning well enough (confirm with trial site for specific values)
  • People known to have HIV infection
  • People who have any other condition that the trial doctor believes would interfere with the study drug
  • People who are unable to understand or follow the study procedures
