- You must have been diagnosed with migraine, tension-type headache, or a mix of both types of headache.
- Your current headache must have started within the last 24 hours.
Who may not be able to join:
- You cannot take part if there is any medical reason why a specific neck massage technique (called carotid sinus massage) would not be safe for you, such as unusual sounds in your neck arteries, a recent heart attack, a history of stroke, or a known or suspected narrowing of the arteries in your neck.
- You cannot take part if there is any medical reason why lying in a tilted position with your feet raised above your head (called the Trendelenburg position) would not be safe for you, such as raised pressure in your brain, breathing difficulties, heart failure, a history of fainting, or a history of irregular heartbeat.
