Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 18 and 70 years old (male or female)
- You have been diagnosed with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (a type of cancer in the back of the nose/throat) confirmed by a tissue test
- Certain lymph nodes in specific areas of your neck (regions III and IVa) do not show signs of cancer spread
- Your cancer is at a stage that has not spread to distant parts of the body (Stage I through IVa, based on a standard staging system)
- Your thyroid gland is working normally
- You are generally active and able to carry out daily activities with little or no limitation (confirm with trial site)
- You have not received any cancer treatment before for this condition
- You have no medical reasons preventing you from having radiotherapy or chemotherapy
- Your blood counts, liver function, and kidney function are all within acceptable ranges based on blood tests
- You are willing to participate, have signed a consent form, and agree to attend follow-up appointments
Who may not be able to join:
- You have had another type of cancer in the past (with some exceptions, such as certain minor skin cancers or very early-stage cervical cancer)
- You have previously received radiotherapy (with limited exceptions)
- You have had surgery on your neck in the past
- You have a serious ongoing health condition such as unstable heart disease, kidney disease, chronic hepatitis, poorly controlled diabetes, or a psychiatric disorder
- You have a history of thyroid problems, including an overactive or underactive thyroid, or immune-related thyroid conditions
- There are personal, family, or social circumstances that the trial team believes could affect your safety or ability to complete the trial
