Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People aged 16 years or older
  • People who have been diagnosed with stage III melanoma (specifically stage IIIB, IIIC, or IIID) that has spread to one or more nearby lymph nodes, confirmed by laboratory testing of tissue samples
  • People whose melanoma is considered surgically removable (resectable) and has measurable tumour spread visible on scans or physical examination
  • People whose lymph node involvement meets at least one of these descriptions: a lymph node that can be felt by touch and confirmed as melanoma; a lymph node that cannot be felt but appears enlarged on imaging scans and is confirmed as melanoma; or a lymph node that shows up on a PET scan and is confirmed as melanoma
  • People whose tumour burden (overall amount of cancer present) is considered appropriate for pre-surgery immune therapy treatment, according to standard medical practice
  • People for whom a procedure to mark the affected lymph node before surgery (called ILN marking) is technically possible (confirm with trial site)
  • People who are willing and able to provide written consent to participate

Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose melanoma originated in the eye (uveal or ocular melanoma) or in the mucous membranes (mucosal melanoma)
  • People with a WHO performance status score of 2 or higher, meaning their cancer significantly limits their daily activities (confirm with trial site)
  • People whose melanoma has only spread through the skin tissue between the original tumour and nearby lymph nodes (called in-transit metastases), without confirmed lymph node involvement
  • People who have previously received targeted therapy drugs aimed at the BRAF or MEK proteins for their melanoma
  • People who have previously received immunotherapy drugs targeting CTLA-4, PD-1, or PD-L1 for their melanoma
  • People who have a current or past diagnosis of melanoma that has spread to distant parts of the body (stage IV melanoma)
