Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Your prostate is larger than 80 ml in size
  • You have tried medication for your prostate/urinary symptoms but it either did not work or you were unable to stick with the treatment
  • Your urinary symptom score (a standard questionnaire called IPSS) is higher than 15, meaning your symptoms are considered moderate to severe
  • Your urine flow rate is slower than 15 ml per second, meaning your urine flow is weaker than normal

  • You have a narrowing or blockage in your urethra (the tube through which urine passes out of the body)
  • You have bladder problems caused by nerve damage or a neurological condition
  • You have previously had a similar procedure done before (this trial is not for repeat procedures)
