Who might be able to join this trial:

• People aged 18 to 65 years old
• People of any gender, including those who are gender-nonconforming
• People who have received a confirmed PTSD diagnosis through a structured clinical interview and chart review
• People whose PTSD symptoms are at or above a certain level of severity, as measured by a standard clinical assessment called the CAPS-5, with a minimum score of 26
• People whose traumatic event occurred between 1 and 26 years before joining the study
• People who are able to understand and sign a consent form, in the opinion of the study investigator
• People who have normal vision, or vision corrected to at least 20/30 with glasses or contact lenses
• People who have normal hearing, or hearing corrected to a functional level (confirm with trial site)
• People who are willing and able to follow the study schedule
• People who also have major depression alongside PTSD, as long as PTSD is the main condition being treated
• People whose psychiatric medications have been at a stable dose for at least 4 weeks before the screening visit
• People who have no plans to change their medications or psychological therapy during the study period

Who may not be able to join:

• People who completed at least one full course of trauma-focused therapy in the past year without showing improvement in PTSD symptoms, as documented in their medical records
• People who have ever been diagnosed with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, schizophreniform disorder, bipolar I or II disorder, psychosis, or delusional disorder
• People whose primary mental health treatment in the 6 months before screening has been focused on a mood or anxiety disorder other than PTSD, in the opinion of the site investigator
• People with an intellectual disability or a known IQ below 70, in the opinion of the site investigator
• People with a moderate or severe substance use disorder within 3 months of screening
• People who are prescribed a benzodiazepine medication that cannot be stopped for the duration of the study (a washout period of at least 2 weeks before the first training session would be required)
• People who have made a suicide attempt or shown significant suicidal behaviour in the last 6 months, or who are currently showing significant suicidal or homicidal intent
• People who started a new course of cognitive behavioural therapy or other evidence-based PTSD therapy within the 3 months before joining (ongoing maintenance supportive therapy is permitted)
• People with a significant history of neurological or brain conditions, including brain surgery, epilepsy, stroke, brain infection, or known cognitive impairment
• People with a history of moderate or severe traumatic brain injury, or known structural damage visible on brain imaging
• People with any unstable medical condition, in the opinion of the investigator
• People who have been hospitalised for a psychiatric reason within the last 6 months
• People currently enrolled in another interventional clinical study, or who were enrolled in one within the 2 months before screening
• People who are at week 20 or later in a pregnancy at the time of the baseline visit
• People who had active COVID-19 symptoms at the time of screening or within the 2 months before screening
• People who are currently under criminal investigation or facing legal charges that could result in imprisonment
• People who do not have stable contact information, including a working telephone number
• People who expect to be working between midnight and 6 AM during the study period
• People who have narcolepsy
• People who have a legally authorised representative making decisions on their behalf
• People whose urine drug screen tests positive for any illegal substance other than marijuana
