Who might be able to join this trial:
- Your Body Mass Index (BMI) is between 30 and 40, or 27.5 and 40 if you are Chinese or South Asian (BMI is a measure based on your height and weight)
- Your BMI is above 40 and you are either considered too high-risk for weight-loss surgery, or you do not wish to have surgery
- You have already tried standard weight-loss methods — such as diet, exercise, behaviour changes, and weight-loss medications — without enough success

- You have had previous surgery on your upper digestive system, such as weight-loss surgery, anti-reflux surgery, stomach removal, or oesophageal surgery
- You have previously had a procedure called an Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG) (confirm with trial site)
- You have a condition called gastroparesis, where your stomach empties too slowly (confirm with trial site)
- You currently smoke
- You have used opioid painkillers (such as morphine or codeine) at any point in the last 12 months
- You have had a previous surgical procedure on the valve at the bottom of your stomach (confirm with trial site)
- You have a blockage anywhere in your digestive system
- You are taking any medication that could affect your weight or how quickly your stomach empties
- You have a serious problem with blood clotting
- You have swollen veins in your oesophagus or stomach, or a related stomach condition caused by liver problems
- You have an uncontrolled hormonal or gland-related condition that is causing your weight gain, such as an underactive thyroid, Cushing's syndrome, or an eating disorder
- You have an inflammatory condition of your digestive tract, such as severe acid damage to the oesophagus, active stomach or intestinal ulcers, or Crohn's disease
- You have or have had cancer
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- You are not considered medically safe to have a general anaesthetic
- You have been assessed as having a very severe level of physical health risk (referred to as ASA grade IV or V) (confirm with trial site)
- You have a mental health or psychiatric condition, or a problem with drug or alcohol addiction
- Your doctor considers you unsuitable for this treatment for any other safety reason
- You do not wish to take part
