Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have headaches on at least 15 days per month, and this pattern has been ongoing for at least 3 months, where those headaches have features of tension-type headaches or migraines
- People who have had at least 5 headache episodes that meet the recognised medical criteria for migraine (either with or without aura — that is, with or without warning symptoms like visual disturbances)
- People whose headaches, on more than 8 days per month for over 3 months, either have typical migraine features, or are relieved by taking migraine medications such as triptans or ergot-based treatments
- People who are able to swallow tablets

Who may not be able to join:
- People under 15 years of age
- People who have swelling at the back of the eye (optic disc oedema), neurological symptoms or signs (other than typical migraine aura such as visual or sensory warnings), or problems with memory or thinking
- People whose headaches come on suddenly and reach peak intensity very quickly (sometimes called "thunderclap headaches")
- People whose headaches occur alongside a fever
- People over 50 years of age whose headaches are newly developed
- People with a high risk of blood clotting who experience headaches
- People with a history of cancer or HIV/AIDS who have developed new headaches
- People whose headaches change depending on body position
- People with a history of epileptic seizures
