Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with deep endometriosis (with or without endometriosis on the ovaries) based on a clinical assessment and ultrasound scan
- You have been recommended to have an MRI scan as part of your diagnosis and are being considered for keyhole (laparoscopic) surgery to treat the condition
- You are between 18 and 40 years old
- You are willing and able to give your consent to take part in the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- You have had previous abdominal surgery
- You have been diagnosed with cancer at any point in the past, or currently have cancer
- You have a chronic inflammatory bowel condition such as Crohn's disease, Ulcerative Colitis, or Indeterminate Colitis, or a bladder condition called interstitial cystitis
- You have a history of pelvic inflammatory disease (an infection of the reproductive organs), whether in the past or currently active
- You have previously received radiotherapy or chemotherapy
- You have nerve-related conditions affecting your back or spine, such as a trapped nerve, herniated (slipped) disc, or other spinal problems
- During your surgery, it was necessary to switch from keyhole surgery to open (larger incision) surgery
