  • People who have been diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), confirmed through clinical assessment, a camera examination of the bowel, and tissue analysis, following current international IBD guidelines.
  • People who are willing to give their consent to take part in the study.

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who already have a known liver condition, such as autoimmune hepatitis, primary biliary cholangitis, primary biliary cirrhosis, hemochromatosis, Wilson's disease, or who have tested positive for hepatitis B or C.
  • People who have a history of liver cancer or have previously had a liver transplant.
  • People with a history of heavy alcohol use, defined as more than 3 standard drinks per day for women or more than 5 standard drinks per day for men.
  • People who are pregnant at the time of joining the study.
  • People for whom a liver stiffness scan (called elastography) could not be completed or where that scan data is missing.
