Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed with PTSD and scored 25 or higher on a standard clinical PTSD assessment, indicating severe PTSD.
  • You are currently taking certain approved medications (such as antidepressants, trazodone, some antipsychotics, prazosin, or clonidine) and have been on a stable dose for at least 4 weeks before joining.
  • You are able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the study.
  • You are able to read and write in English or Hebrew.

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, dementia, or are currently experiencing symptoms of psychosis.
  • You have a history of an antidepressant medication causing episodes of mania or hypomania (an abnormally elevated or excitable mood).
  • You are currently considered to be at serious and ongoing risk of suicide.
  • You have had a moderate or severe problem with substance use (not including alcohol) in the 3 months before joining the trial.
  • You have had a serious brain injury involving loss of consciousness for more than 24 hours or memory loss lasting more than 7 days (confirm with trial site for specific circumstances).
  • You have a significant history of neurological illness (conditions affecting the brain or nervous system) or heart disease.
  • You show signs of a major medical or neurological illness found during a physical exam, heart tracing (ECG), or blood tests.
  • You have a history of a learning disability or intellectual disability.
