Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (a type of cancer in the back of the nose/throat), confirmed by a tissue sample (biopsy), classified as Type I, II, or III by the World Health Organization.
  • You had an MRI scan done at the time of first diagnosis, before any cancer treatment started, and the images (including several types of MRI scans) are still available for review.
  • You had a PET/CT scan done at the time of first diagnosis, before any cancer treatment started.
  • If your MRI and PET/CT scans gave different results about whether lymph nodes in the neck were cancerous or not, you agreed to have a needle sample (biopsy) taken from those lymph nodes for further testing.

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have previously had radiation therapy to the lymph nodes in your neck, for any reason.
  • You have been diagnosed with any other type of cancer in addition to nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
