- People who have already received radiation to the brain before and are being re-irradiated
- People whose radiation treatment is intended for palliative (comfort-focused) care rather than treatment of the tumor itself
- People whose tumor appears in multiple separate areas of the brain at the same time
- People who are planned to receive radiation to the whole brain or to the brain and spine together
- People who are planned to receive a shortened intensive course of radiation (hypo-fractionated) or highly targeted radiation (stereotactic radiotherapy)
