Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are 18 years of age or older
- People who have been clinically diagnosed with IPF (idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a lung condition)
- People who are able to give their informed consent to participate
Who may not be able to join:
- People who require continuous oxygen at home
- People whose blood oxygen level is below 92% on the day of the MRI scan
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who experience severe anxiety in enclosed spaces (claustrophobia), or who have certain metal implants or devices in their body — such as inner ear implants, aneurysm clips, a pacemaker, metal fragments in the eye, or any implanted device that cannot be confirmed as safe for MRI scanning
- People with a history of heart defects present from birth, long-term kidney failure, or severe liver scarring (cirrhosis)
- People whose chest circumference is larger than approximately 42 inches, as this exceeds the size of the MRI equipment used in this trial
- People who are unable to follow simple instructions or remain still for approximately 10 to 15 seconds
- People who have had a respiratory infection (such as a chest infection or cold) within the 2 weeks before the MRI scan
- People with a history of heart attack, stroke, or poorly controlled high blood pressure
