Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are a woman aged between 18 and 64 years old
- Your Body Mass Index (BMI) is between 40 and 50 (a measure of weight relative to height)
- You are scheduled to have weight-loss (bariatric) surgery 10 to 12 weeks after the nutrition programme begins
- You currently spread your eating across more than 14 hours of the day (for example, eating from 7am to 9pm or longer)
- You eat three meals a day
- Your weight has been fairly stable (changed less than 10%) over the last 3 months
- A specialist team has agreed you are ready for surgery, following at least 6 months of nutritional support and previous attempts at non-surgical weight loss
- You are covered by social security (health coverage)
- You are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part
- You can understand and communicate in Catalan or Spanish
Who may not be able to join:
- You have Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes
- You have a serious heart condition
- You are pregnant
- You are taking medications that could affect the study results, such as anti-inflammatory drugs, antibiotics, or immunosuppressants (confirm with trial site)
- You are currently using any weight-loss products or supplements
- You work night shifts
- You have a history of cancer
- You have serious liver problems or chronic kidney disease
- You have an eating disorder
- You have a chronic viral illness such as Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, or HIV, or a long-term inflammatory condition such as Crohn's disease or rheumatoid arthritis
- You have had a serious heart or stroke-related event in the 6 months before joining the trial
- You have a severe digestive condition or have had stomach or intestinal surgery in the last 12 months
- You are under legal guardianship, a curatorship arrangement, or are currently deprived of your liberty
- You are unwilling or unable to sign the consent form
