Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have recently had COVID-19 and are being seen at the Post COVID-19 Clinic at Mayo Clinic Rochester.
- You have had at least one of these ongoing symptoms for more than 4 weeks after your first positive COVID-19 test: loss of smell, ringing in the ears (tinnitus), or significant fatigue.
- Your loss of smell must be confirmed by a smell test showing reduced or absent smell ability.
- Your ringing in the ears must have started after your COVID-19 infection and be confirmed by a standard questionnaire score above zero.
- Your fatigue must score 40 or above on a standard fatigue questionnaire called the Modified Fatigue Impact Scale.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have an implanted electronic device, such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, medication pump, or vagus nerve stimulator.
- You drink more than 14 alcoholic drinks per week, have a formal diagnosis of alcohol abuse, or use illegal drugs.
- You have had a seizure at any point in the last 10 years.
- You have any metal implants in or near your head, such as aneurysm clips, brain stimulators, cochlear implants, or stents (confirm with trial site if unsure).
- You are currently enrolled in, or planning to join, another clinical trial that involves a treatment or intervention.
- You have previously had a stroke that left lasting effects.
- You are unable to understand or follow spoken instructions.
- You are unable to understand and sign a consent form for the study.
- Your doctor feels that your medical condition means you would not be able to safely take part in the trial procedures.
- You have an unstable or significant medical condition that the researchers feel could put you at risk or affect the study results (confirm with trial site).
- You are pregnant or trying to become pregnant; women who could potentially be pregnant will need a negative pregnancy test at the start of the study.
- You have any other condition that, in the researchers' judgment, would prevent you from completing the study (confirm with trial site).
