Who might be able to join this trial:

• You are an expectant parent whose unborn child will receive care at one of the participating maternity units
• At least one parent or legal guardian has been given information about the study
• You are willing to allow your data to be used in the study
• You are covered by, or entitled to benefits from, a social security system

For the newborn genetic screening part of the study (babies):

• Your baby was born at one of the participating centers, or was born elsewhere but will be cared for at a participating center
• Your baby is less than 28 days old at the time the first screening sample (blotting paper) is collected

For the newborn genetic screening part of the study (parents or legal guardians):

• At least one biological parent has been given information about the study
• You do not object to standard newborn screening tests
• At least one parent or legal guardian is able to give consent for the baby to be tested
• At least one parent or legal guardian has signed a consent form
• The second parent or legal guardian has agreed to testing (unless they are unknown or cannot be contacted), as confirmed by the first parent or legal guardian
• You are covered by, or entitled to benefits from, a social security system

Who may not be able to join:

Parents or legal guardians:

• Parents or legal guardians who are under a legal protection order, such as guardianship or court-ordered supervision

Babies:

• Babies born under anonymous birth circumstances as defined by French law (known as "nés sous X")
