For patients with bladder cancer:
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You have a confirmed diagnosis of bladder cancer (either the type that has grown into the muscle wall or the type that has not)
- You are generally active and able to carry out daily activities with little or no limitation (this is measured by a standard health scale called performance status 0–1 — confirm with trial site)

Who may not be able to join:
For patients with bladder cancer:
- Your bladder cancer has spread to other parts of the body (metastatic cancer)
- You are not able to independently follow the study procedures
For healthy volunteers:
- You have a past or current history of bladder cancer
- There is any current suspicion that you may have a tumour or cancer of any kind
- You have received or are currently receiving cancer treatments that affect the whole body (such as chemotherapy)
- You have an inflammatory or autoimmune disease that could affect certain biological markers being measured in this study (confirm with trial site)
- You are taking medications or receiving any other treatments that could affect the study's test results
- You are not able to independently follow the study procedures
