Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 or older
- People with a life expectancy of more than 3 months
- People who have been diagnosed with colorectal cancer (Stage I or II) confirmed by a tissue sample analysis
- People whose cancer is classified as T1–T3, N0, M0 (meaning the tumour is limited in size, has not spread to lymph nodes, and has not spread to other organs), and who are considered suitable for surgery
- People who are able to understand and sign a consent form agreeing to take part
- People who are clinically stable, with no significant changes in kidney function or treatment in the weeks before joining the trial
- For people without chronic kidney disease: People with adequate liver, kidney, and bone marrow function, including acceptable levels of certain blood markers (haemoglobin, platelets, creatinine, and bilirubin)
- For people with chronic kidney disease: People with a confirmed chronic kidney disease diagnosis lasting at least 3 months (as defined by international kidney disease guidelines), and a kidney filtration rate of 60 ml/min/1.73m² or below (confirm with trial site)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have recently experienced acute (sudden) kidney failure
- People who have had a kidney transplant, have autoimmune diseases, have inflammatory bowel disease, or have conditions beyond colorectal cancer or blood-related cancers
- People who have recently used steroids or immunosuppressant medications, or who have had a cardiovascular event (such as a heart attack or stroke) within the 3 months before joining
- People with a history of serious allergic reactions to iodinated contrast agents or gadolinium-based contrast agents (types of dyes used in medical imaging)
- People who have had, or are planning to have, invasive or surgical procedures within 3 months of joining that could interfere with the study
- People with psychiatric conditions that could affect their ability to follow study procedures or provide informed consent
- People who have had another type of cancer in the 5 years before joining the trial
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding (pregnancy will be checked before enrolment using a urine or blood test)
