Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have been diagnosed with high-risk non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (a type of bladder cancer that has not spread deep into the bladder wall), confirmed by a camera examination of the bladder, including specific types such as high-grade T1, recurring high-grade Ta, certain larger or multiple tumours, carcinoma in situ (CIS), cancer that has not responded to BCG treatment, unusual cell types, lymphovascular involvement, or cancer affecting the prostatic urethra.
  • People who are generally in good health and are able to attend follow-up appointments over a period of 2 years.

Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose bladder cancer is not the urothelial carcinoma (UC) type.
  • People whose cancer has grown into the muscle of the bladder wall, or who have a non-cancerous bladder condition.
  • People whose tumour was not fully removed during surgery.
  • People who currently have an active infection.
  • People who also have urothelial carcinoma in the upper urinary tract or the prostatic urethra at the same time.
  • People who have previously received systemic chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or radiotherapy.
  • People who have low white blood cell or low platelet counts.
  • People whose kidney function blood test (serum creatinine) is more than twice the upper limit of normal.
  • People who have a urinary tract infection that cannot be controlled.
