Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the study
  • You are between 22 and 65 years old
  • You have been diagnosed with PTSD based on a standard clinical assessment (called the CAPS)
  • Your PTSD symptoms have been present for at least 6 months before your screening appointment
  • You scored 31 or higher on a standard PTSD questionnaire called the PCL-5
  • You identify as a Veteran or a First Responder (such as a paramedic, firefighter, or other emergency services worker)

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have a medical, psychological, or neurological condition that is not well managed or controlled
  • You are pregnant, or you are a woman who is not willing to use effective contraception during the trial
  • You have any metal objects in your head
  • You have a history of metal fragments, permanent piercings, or other possible metal in your head or neck area
  • You are currently taking part in another clinical research study involving a treatment or intervention
  • You have previously had electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) or a brain stimulation treatment called repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS)
  • You have a history of stroke, a brain lesion, or increased pressure in the brain
  • You have a history of epilepsy or seizures
  • A close blood relative (such as a parent or sibling) has a history of epilepsy or seizures
  • You are considered to be at high risk of harming yourself or others
