- People who currently have active coronary artery disease (blocked heart arteries) or heart failure

- People with poor kidney function (based on a calculated kidney filtration rate below a certain threshold)
- People taking blood pressure, thyroid, antidepressant, or cholesterol-lowering medication who have not been on a stable dose for at least two months before joining
- People with uncontrolled thyroid disease, based on specific hormone level results from recent testing
- People with a current alcohol or recreational drug misuse problem
- People who have smoked tobacco within the past three months
- People with an active infection (such as pneumonia or bone infection) that is not expected to clear up before the study procedures begin
- People with uncontrolled high blood pressure at the time of screening (resting diastolic above 90 mmHg and/or systolic above 160 mmHg)
- People with a recent injury, muscle disorder, cancer, or other significant medical condition that the investigator believes would interfere with completing the study
- People who are currently pregnant
- People taking any other medication that the investigator considers a reason not to participate
