Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 or older.
- People with a body mass index (BMI) of 28 or above, OR a BMI between 24 and 28 who also have at least one weight-related health condition, such as: high blood pressure or use of blood pressure medication; abnormal cholesterol or triglyceride levels or use of cholesterol-lowering medication; obstructive sleep apnea (interrupted breathing during sleep); fatty liver; cardiovascular (heart) disease; or polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
- People who have tried at least once in the past to lose weight through diet and exercise without lasting success.
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose weight gain is known to be caused by a specific genetic condition, another medical condition, or a medication.
- People with a personal or family history of a type of thyroid cancer called medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), or a condition called multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2.
- People with a history of moderate to severe depression at any point in their life, a high score on a standard depression questionnaire (PHQ-9 score of 15 or above) at screening, or a history of bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or other serious psychiatric conditions.
- People who have previously had an organ transplant (except a corneal/eye transplant), or who are currently planning to have one.
- People who plan to quit smoking during the study period.
- People with a history of allergic reactions to multiple medications or foods, or who are known to be allergic to the study drug (RAY1225), GLP-1 receptor agonists, or related medications (confirm with trial site if unsure whether a specific allergy applies).
