Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years old or older at the time of signing the consent form.
- You are willing and able to follow the study procedures, as judged by the study doctor.
- You are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part and allowing your health information to be shared for the study.
- Your general health and ability to carry out daily activities falls within a certain acceptable range (a standard scale used by doctors to measure this, called ECOG, scored 0–2) (confirm with trial site).
- Your tissue samples show findings that support a diagnosis of anaplastic thyroid cancer (a specific aggressive type of thyroid cancer), or a closely related diagnosis.
- You are willing to have a fresh tissue sample (biopsy) taken at least 3 days before treatment starts if older stored tissue is not available, and also willing to have a biopsy during surgery if that applies to you.
- Your tumor has tested negative for a specific genetic change called BRAF V600E, confirmed through laboratory testing of your tumor tissue.
Who may not be able to join:
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding, or plan to breastfeed during treatment or within 1 month of the last dose of the study drug XL092.
- You have previously been treated with certain immune-system-modifying drugs or targeted cancer drugs (including experimental ones) and your cancer got worse while on those treatments.
- You have had a significant autoimmune disease within the past 5 years that required strong medication to suppress your immune system (confirm with trial site).
- You have a history of serious allergic reactions or severe hypersensitivity reactions to antibody-based treatments.
- You are currently taking certain medications listed in the study protocol that cannot be stopped or swapped for an alternative at least 7 days before starting treatment.
- You have taken part in another clinical trial using an experimental treatment within the last 3 weeks.
