Who might be able to join this trial:
- Families with children aged 8 to 16 years who have trouble controlling anger, or who show defiant or aggressive behaviour, where the child meets a specific number of recognised diagnostic markers for either Oppositional Defiant Disorder (at least 3 markers) or Conduct Disorder involving aggression (at least 2 markers).
- Any medication the child is currently taking can stay the same during the trial — no changes are required.
- Parents or caregivers who are able to read and engage with written materials in Swedish.
Who may not be able to join:
- Families where the child is younger than 8 years old or has already turned 17, or where the child does not show the defiant or aggressive behaviours described in the first criteria above.
- Children who have severe depression, suicidal behaviour, bipolar disorder, psychosis, an eating disorder, severe autism (classified as level 2 or 3), a diagnosed intellectual disability, or ongoing involvement in criminal behaviour that a clinician judges would need a different type of support than what this trial offers.
- Children or adolescents who are already receiving another psychological treatment for the same difficulties, or whom a clinician considers in need of a different type of intervention.
- Parents or children who have epilepsy or migraines.
