Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who are 18 years of age or older
  • People whose blood clotting levels (INR) are below 1.2 and whose platelet count is above 80,000 per mm³ (these are measures of how well the blood clots)

  • People who do not wish to give their consent to participate
  • People showing signs that their body is not getting enough blood flow, such as low blood pressure or a bluish colour to the skin
  • People whose blood oxygen level is below 94%, as measured by a finger pulse oximeter
  • People who are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
  • People who are unable to cooperate during the procedure
  • People whose lung lesion is in a position that cannot be safely reached for a biopsy (this decision is made during pre-biopsy planning)
  • People whose blood creatinine level (a measure of kidney function) is above 2mg/dl
