Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 or older who have been diagnosed with moderate to severe chronic kidney disease (stages 3–5), with kidney function measurements that have been stable for at least three months
- People whose blood sugar and blood pressure levels are being managed and kept within a controlled range with treatment
- People whose nutritional status has been assessed as normal using a standard nutritional screening tool called the GLIM criteria
- People who are willing to attend an initial screening appointment and monthly in-person visits at the outpatient clinic at LAUMC-RH
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have had an active infection, ongoing loss of appetite, vomiting, or diarrhea within the past month
- People who have a serious illness that causes the body to break down, such as cancer, tuberculosis, liver failure, or heart failure
- People who have had high potassium levels in their blood (above 5.5 mEq/L) at any point in the past six months
