Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You have been officially diagnosed with ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) using the 2015 Institute of Medicine guidelines, and have had this diagnosis for more than six months
Who may not be able to join:
- You are too unwell to take part in the study
- You do not have reliable access to the internet
- You are not able to communicate in English
- You have ever been diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease (such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis)
- You have taken antibiotic tablets, capsules, or received antibiotic infusions (through a drip) in the past month
- You are currently taking part in another research study
- You are currently using any mind-body therapy or practice, such as yoga, meditation, hypnotherapy, tai chi, qigong, biofeedback, guided imagery, art therapy, breathing exercises, or similar approaches (confirm with trial site for the full list)
- You plan to start any new treatment during the study, including new therapies, psychotherapy, or any new prescription or over-the-counter medications or supplements
- You have an untreated or uncontrolled medical condition that could itself explain your fatigue, such as thyroid problems, diabetes, anemia, adrenal disorders, or lupus (confirm with trial site for the full list)
- You have certain connective tissue or autoimmune conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis, Marfan syndrome, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hypermobility type), or Sjögren's Syndrome
- You have multiple sclerosis or coeliac disease (note: coeliac disease can sometimes appear without obvious digestive symptoms)
- You have an immune disorder such as HIV/AIDS
- You have an untreated sleep disorder, such as obstructive sleep apnoea
- You have a past illness that has come back or not fully resolved, such as certain cancers, leukaemia, tuberculosis, or chronic hepatitis
- You currently have an active primary psychiatric condition, such as an eating disorder, alcohol use disorder, or substance use disorder
