Who might be able to join this trial:

- People aged between 18 and 55 years old
- People living with obesity, meaning a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 or higher

- People who have previously had weight-loss surgery (RYGB, OAGB, or sleeve gastrectomy) or have been on obesity medication under medical supervision for at least 4 months
Who may not be able to join:
- People who were male at birth
- People under 18 or over 55 years old
- People with a BMI below 30
- People who are not able to read or write in Dutch
- People having a repeat or revision weight-loss surgery (unless their only previous procedure was a gastric band)
- People who have malnutrition caused by another ongoing condition, such as cancer or substance use
- People whose mental or physical condition would make it impossible to complete questionnaires accurately (confirm with trial site)
- For the bone density scan: people who are taller than 196 cm or weigh more than 160 kg
- For the MRI scan: people with certain medical devices or implants (such as a pacemaker or defibrillator), metal fragments in or near the eyes, certain metallic implants, or claustrophobia
Additional exclusions for the pregnancy group (birth cohort):
- People under 18 or over 45 years old
- People who are more than 25 weeks pregnant
- People carrying more than one baby (e.g., twins)
- People who have had their weight-loss surgery reversed
