Who might be able to join this trial:
- People diagnosed with a specific type of lung cancer called non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that is either at an advanced local stage (Stage IIIB or IIIC) and cannot be treated with surgery or a combination of chemotherapy and radiation, or has spread to other parts of the body (Stage IV).
- People whose lung cancer has a specific genetic change called a KRAS G12C mutation, and whose cancer has tested negative for other genetic changes that have existing approved targeted treatments.
- People whose cancer can be measured on scans according to standard medical guidelines (called RECIST 1.1).
- People who are generally well enough to carry out light activity and care for themselves, rated 0 or 1 on a standard health scale used in cancer trials (ECOG performance status).
- People whose liver, kidneys, and other organs are working well enough to meet the trial's requirements.
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose cancer has spread to the lining of the brain or spinal cord, or whose brain or spinal cord cancer spread is not yet under control.
- People who have received chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy, or another experimental treatment within the past 4 weeks before starting the study drug (or within 6 weeks for certain specific chemotherapy drugs, or within 2 weeks for certain targeted or traditional medicines with anti-cancer uses).
- People who have had another cancer diagnosis within the past 3 years, unless that cancer was fully treated and considered cured.
- People who have a digestive tract condition that prevents them from swallowing tablets or capsules, or that would stop the body from absorbing the study drug properly.
