Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who are male or female and aged 18 or older
  • People who have been diagnosed with acromegaly (a condition caused by a pituitary tumour that leads to too much growth hormone), confirmed by elevated growth hormone and/or IGF-I levels in the blood
  • People whose IGF-I levels remain above 80% of the upper limit of the normal range, despite being on a stable dose of medication for at least 4 months

  • People who are pregnant or breastfeeding

  • People who have had pituitary surgery or radiation therapy within the 6 months before joining the study

  • People who have a history of epilepsy or currently have epilepsy
  • People who have taken part in a clinical trial of an experimental drug or medical device within the 30 days before screening
  • People who have a mental health condition that makes it difficult to understand what the study involves and what participating could mean for them
  • People whose HbA1c (a blood test that measures average blood sugar levels over time) is above 6.5% at the screening stage
  • People who are taking any diabetes medication other than metformin
